2009 Spring City Arts Plein Air Competition

Spring City Arts 3rd Annual Plein Air Painting Competition is scheduled to be held again in Historic Spring City, Utah. Spring City is located in Sanpete County, a scenic, pastoral rural landscape. This county is dotted with sheep, cattle, horse and agricultural farms as well as historic cities, and is known for its beautiful countryside of farmlands, majestic mountains and wonderful blue skies. Additionally, Spring City is a National Historic District, where dozens of 1800’s Pioneer homes and buildings are located in a rural city setting.

Artists will be painting in and around Beautiful Spring City and Sanpete County. Local scenes include historic streets and structures, pastoral vistas, mountain and stream scenes, landscapes and agricultural subjects. All traditional plein air painting mediums are acceptable, work must be done “en plein air” (in the outdoors).

Competition Judging and Art Show & Sale will be Saturday, Sept. 12 at 10:00 a.m.
